This brown-bag lunch series will provide information on campus resources and offer workshops to support the mental, physical and social aspects of the graduate and professional student experience.


Fall 2008 - Tentative Schedule

October 1 (Week 1) - Express to Success
Presentation skills and public speaking. Presented by Sara Henry, Express to Success Program.

October 8 (Week 2) - Get Involved
Your experience UCSD is so much more than your academics alone. A panel of active and engaged graduate students share a bit about their involvements, and provide their experience with co-curricular activity. Staff from the Center for Student Involvement will share information and resources for finding opportunities that are meaningful and beneficial to you during your graduate career.

October 15 (Week 3) - Commuter Student Services
Resources for living off campus - from negotiating leases to choosing roommates.

October 22 (Week 4) - Got Community?
Community building involves you and your story. Join us for a workshop that provides you creative opportunities to share what's on your mind and to connect with graduate students, staff, and resources around UCSD. Now that you've been here a month, how will you stay connected? Find out ways to do just that. Come with an open mind and an open appetite! Presented by the Campus Community Centers.

October 29 (Week 5) - Yoga on the Go
Simple yoga poses to relax or refresh. Wear comfortable clothing! Presented by Recreation Services.

November 5 (Week 6) - Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution
Learn about campus resources available to help you deal with conflicts, and gain skills to navigate sticky situations. Presented by the Ombuds Office and OSHPP.

November 12 (Week 7) - Stress Management
Don't let the end of quarter rush overwhelm you! Learn strategies for coping with stress. Presented by Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS).

November 19 (Week 8) - Healthy Eating
The holidays are upon us! Learn strategies for creating healthy, satisfying meals, and how to make healthy choices even during the holidays! Presented by Student Health Services.

Sandwiches and drinks from Art of Espresso will be sponsored by the Office of Graduate Studies.
